Starting in September, Dementia Friendly Wrexham are running an Inclusive Arts programme for those living with dementia and their carers.
The arts project is the result of a generous donation from the Rayfield family following the great success of an art sale which took place in April, where each piece of art was wonderfully created by a very talented lady living with dementia, Mrs Pat Rayfield.
The staggering £1,300.00 raised was presented to Dementia Friendly Wrexham who decided to fund an arts project for those living with dementia and their carers.
“As a group we wanted to ensure that the funds would be put to great use, and what better way to honour the positive attitude and great talent of Pat Rayfield and her family to ensure that the money went into providing art opportunities for those living with dementia.”
“Pat is a great example that people can live well with dementia, with the right support. Pat’s family’s generosity towards the Dementia Friendly Wrexham group can ensure that this message continues to be proven in the future. This is the message that we, as a group, want to reinforce to the community of Wrexham that with awareness and understanding, people can continue to live enjoyable lives in their own communities”.
