The Whitchurch Herald are right behind Prospect House Care Home’s award win at the Great British Care Awards.
The Malpas based care home announced its Chef, Paul Wright, won the Care Home Chef Award at the Great British Care Awards during the glittering North West Region event held at the Manchester Clock Tower Hotel this month.
Swiftly picked up by the newspaper news of Paul’s win and his colleagues Eve Jones, Administrator and Joe Ward, Activities Coordinator being highly commended, featured recognising the very best in adult social care.
Judges crowned Paul the winner based on his nutritious innovations, attention to detail and commitment to deliver a very person-centred menu to the people that live at Prospect House.
Judges also had this to say about the highly commended Joe Ward and Eve Jones:
Joe’s approach ensures that those in his care continue to have new experiences and make new memories. His clever use of new technology ensures everyone experiences a fulfilling and vibrant life.
Eve clearly puts the needs of people she supports above herself. She understands the importance of the smaller things and promotes and combines her work, her family and farm life to ensure an inclusive approach across the home.
Sarah Stroud, Manager at Prospect House Care Home says: “We so happy our local newspaper covered the story and are obviously extremely proud to have such amazing talent in our team. The purpose of the awards is to promote the best practices within care home settings and pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.
I couldn’t be prouder of this recognition and achievement. I should mention that overall we had five finalists, Nigel Owen for the Care Worker Award and myself for the Registered Manager Award, such an achievement.
“Paul will now go forward into the national competition finals which will be held in March next year. We can’t wait to support him.”
Perfectly situated in the centre of the historical village of Malpas, Prospect House is a beautifully renovated and maintained Georgian house. With views over the Cheshire plains the home provides residential, nursing, and expert care for residents with dementia, and both short-term respite care.
